Heroes & Horses of the Ozarks was established as a non-profit organization July 8, 2011.  Its original mission was to serve Veterans and their families in the NW Arkansas region where mental health issues are addressed utilizing Equine Assisted Activites and Therapies. (EAAT).  It has now been amended so that the mission includes First Responders and their families.

Military Veterans include those who have served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard and U.S. Military Reserves.  First Responders are police officers, fire fighters, EMTs and paramedics.
